| Millar’s Well Primary School wanted to raise the profile of Indigenous students and people within the school community by promoting the cultural significance of Karratha to Indigenous people.
The students created a brochure for visitors that outlined the places of cultural significance in and around Karratha. Mosaics were also created of those places to make a permanent record for display around the school.
Millar's Well also collaborated with Pegs Creek Primary School, who assisted in translating parts of the brochure into Yindjibarndi language. Local Elders were also invited to share stories of the significant sites and assist with the art activities. |
